| Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora… Every time Polynesia is mentioned, most people think of beautiful distant beaches with palm trees bent towards the blue ocean, exotic plants and flowers, the true lost paradise.Maybe it is because we have all watched so many movies and books showing those incredible beaches; or maybe it is because these are very distant and isolated territories, that they carry this mystique that started when the first brave sailors arrived from France. The truth is that Polynesia will not disappoint, it is all we have dreamed, imagined and more. Far from everywhere, the sky is the bluest color you have seen. You then realize that the pictures and calendars you’ve seen were right, it was not a dark room or Photoshop trick that gave them such bright colors. At night, the clean atmosphere lets you spot more stars than on any other sky. |
| These islands are surrounded by coral: sea outside the reef is deep, dark blue. Inside the reef, you see these different flavors of green, blue and turquoise waters. The palm trees, the strong fragrance of gardenias, the frequent showers, all contribute to create this intoxicating atmosphere. Uncrowded, unspoilt, this is a place to enjoy nature and fill your senses with beauty while relaxing and recharging your batteries. If you prefer action to contemplation, beware. Besides water related activities there isnot a lot to do, so do not expect big shopping or nightlife. Having said that, if you have the opportunity to go, just do it. You won’t regret it. And if you can’t go now, perhaps some day you will. Meanwhile look at our pictures, relax and try to imagine that you feel the warm breeze and smell the fragrance of the gardenias, wet your feet in the South Pacific waters and maybe spot a gray pearl… |
